POST CHRISTMAS NEWS NOTE:

Happy New Year Everyone!

This years Twelve Prayers of Christmas initiative was better than we could have possibly imagined. Our prayer was that we would receive double the hits that we received last year. Little did we know that the Lord would more then quadrupled our hits to almost 50,000 hits. We pray that you and the people the Lord laid on your heart this year have been blessed.

If you have been blessed and you have seen answer to prayer, we encourage you to write us an email documenting how God answered your prayers. It will be a great encouragement to us as well as those who have joined our prayer initiate.

We will post the content or your email minus your last name and email address to our testimonies page. We will also edit the submitted text as necessary to maintain privacy as needed. We look forward to hearing from you!

Blessings to all of you this coming year. We look forward to seeing you all next Christmas!!!

Welcome

We welcome you to our site. We serve a living Savior who is with us and who cares for us and all of our needs. He desires to have a deep, meaningful and intimate relationship with us. We pray that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless you and the prayers that you offer up to Him this Christmas season. We also pray that you would draw ever closer to Him through His Holy Spirit.

Introduction

Let me introduce you to ‘The Twelve Prayers of Christmas’… This title refers to a Christmas blessing that the Lord bestowed upon me a few years ago when I wanted to bless people at Christmas time, but I realized that I lacked the resources many times to do so. The Lord showed me at that time, that prayer was one of the greatest gifts that someone could give to another. The concept of this prayer blessing combines the advent-like countdown to Christmas with the familiar ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ effect to create ‘The Twelve Prayers of Christmas’.

How it works

Ask the Lord to place 12 individuals or families on your heart. The first time I did so, my entire list was comprised in less than 2 hours! Next, create an opening letter on the ‘The Twelve Prayers of Christmas’ stationary or your own and mail the letters to the 12 recipients 1-2 weeks prior to December 14th of each year. (It is helpful to keep the list of 12 individuals handy at all times during the 12 days as a reminder to pray).

The Opening Letter

Your opening letter should explain that not only has the individual been chosen to be prayed for daily Dec.14th- Dec. 25th, but also that whatever the Spirit of God prompts you to do on the recipient’s behalf will be done. For example, you may feel led to fast on the recipient’s behalf during this prayer season. Starting Dec. 14th, you will either chose to pray for 1 individual/family per day or one may chose to pray for all 12 recipients on each of the 12 days. The prayer blessing will end on the day of our blessed Savior’s birth. The goal is to rejoice not only in the miracle of Jesus’ birth, but also in the miracles of answered prayers on the behalf of others during these 12 days of prayer.

The Closing Letter

Lastly, it is truly important to follow up with a closing letter so that each recipient of ‘The Twelve Prayers of Christmas’ has an assurance that they have been offered up in prayer for the 12 prayer days. I like to call this a “prayer receipt”. I have personally witnessed the answer to many prayer requests from ‘The Twelve Prayers of Christmas’, even months later.

Finally...

As Christians, we should be aware of the fact that we may not see the answers to some prayers while here on earth. We can rejoice in this instance that we serve a miraculous God. Perhaps we cannot fathom how He will use each individual prayer, but we can have full assurance that He will receive the glory if we are found faithful in this endeavor.

May the Lord bless you this Christmas season through blessing others in prayer.
